It is with great sadness that the family of Thelma Genevee Ray announces her passing after a brief struggle with lung cancer, on Monday, August 7, 2017, at the age of 85.

Genevee was born to Gus & Chloe Wallace on September 19, 1931 in Camp Wood, Texas. She had attended College of the Sequoias and worked as medical transcriptionist at Kaweah Delta Medical Center until retiring in 1993. She had lived in New Mexico in her early years but then moved to Armona in 1969 where she has been...

It is with great sadness that the family of Thelma Genevee Ray announces her passing after a brief struggle with lung cancer, on Monday, August 7, 2017, at the age of 85.

Genevee was born to Gus & Chloe Wallace on September 19, 1931 in Camp Wood, Texas. She had attended College of the Sequoias and worked as medical transcriptionist at Kaweah Delta Medical Center until retiring in 1993. She had lived in New Mexico in her early years but then moved to Armona in 1969 where she has been ever since.

Genevee will be lovingly remembered by her 6 children; Allen Ray, William Ray, Susan (Ray) Fontaine, Rhonda (Ray) Roth, Clinton Ray and Russell Ray. She will also be fondly remembered by her 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, her brother J.W. Wallace and sister Wilma Blair. She will be missed by her extended family and numerous friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband James E. Ray.

A Funeral Service in memory of Genevee will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at People's Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty St, Hanford with Burial to follow at Grangeville Cemetery; 10428 14th Ave., Armona.
